1. Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy applies to the Kindness in Action (“KIA”) crowdfunding platform operated by Kind Coin at realkindcoin.com/kia/ and related KIA pages and features that link to it. KIA may use Thrinacia Atlas or successor crowdfunding infrastructure and payment providers such as Stripe to support campaign and donation functionality.

2. Information we collect
Donor and payment information
When you donate, KIA may collect your campaign selection, donation amount, first and last name, email address, whether you want your name displayed publicly, transaction status, receipt and chargeback records, and fraud/security information. The current checkout may also receive payment-card number, expiration information, and CVC for transmission through the payment flow to payment/crowdfunding providers.
Payment-card data is highly sensitive. We use it only to facilitate payment processing and related fraud, dispute, and compliance functions. Payment providers may separately collect, store, tokenize, and process payment data under their own privacy terms and security requirements.
Campaign organizer and beneficiary information
When you submit a campaign for review, KIA may collect organizer name, email, phone number, organization name, relationship to the beneficiary, campaign title and description, category, funding goal, currency, dates, beneficiary type and name, city/region/country, proposed use of funds, verification details, website or social links, campaign-image links, document links, consent/accuracy confirmations, submission time, and technical submission information.
Campaign review may require additional identity, eligibility, fraud-prevention, beneficiary-consent, organizational, financial, or supporting documentation. If requested, we will limit collection to information reasonably necessary for the review or legal/compliance purpose.
Public campaign and community information
Campaign titles, descriptions, images, beneficiary information selected for publication, funding progress, supporter names when a donor chooses public display, campaign updates, and other campaign/community content may be made public. Do not submit personal information you do not want public unless the form clearly identifies it as private review information.
Technical, account, and device information
KIA may collect IP address, device and browser information, logs, page interactions, search/filter activity, timestamps, security events, cookie or storage identifiers, and account or profile data if account functionality is enabled. Approximate location may be inferred from IP address.
3. Sensitive information and third-party data
Campaign stories can involve health, financial hardship, disability, children, family circumstances, or other sensitive subjects. Only submit sensitive information that is necessary, accurate, and lawful to provide. If you submit information about another person, you represent that you have authority or consent to provide it and, where applicable, to allow the requested public display.
KIA is not a healthcare provider or HIPAA-covered patient portal. Do not upload medical records, Social Security numbers, full bank-account credentials, private keys, seed phrases, passwords, or government IDs unless KIA specifically requests information through an approved verification channel.
4. Sources of information
We receive information from donors, campaign organizers, beneficiaries or their representatives, public campaign materials, our own KIA systems, Thrinacia or other crowdfunding infrastructure, payment providers such as Stripe, hosting/security providers, fraud and verification services, and public or legally available sources used to verify a campaign or comply with law.
5. How we use information
- Display, administer, review, verify, approve, reject, pause, or remove campaigns.
- Process donations, provide receipts or transaction records, reconcile payments, manage chargebacks/refunds, and prevent duplicate or unauthorized transactions.
- Contact organizers, donors, beneficiaries, and community participants about submissions, donations, support, verification, safety, or required updates.
- Publish campaign information and supporter names where users choose or authorize public display.
- Detect and prevent fraud, impersonation, abuse, money laundering, sanctions evasion, prohibited fundraising, or security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations, lawful requests, payment-network rules, sanctions restrictions, tax/reporting obligations applicable to us, and provider requirements.
- Operate, secure, analyze, troubleshoot, and improve KIA and future account/community tools.
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims and enforce our Terms.
6. How we disclose information
We may disclose personal information to crowdfunding infrastructure providers such as Thrinacia; payment processors and payment-network participants such as Stripe and card networks; hosting, security, fraud, verification, communications, support, analytics, and professional-service providers; campaign beneficiaries and organizers where necessary to administer a campaign; and government or law-enforcement authorities where legally required.
We may also disclose information in a business transfer or financing transaction, with your consent or direction, or when reasonably necessary to protect KIA, Kind Coin, users, beneficiaries, donors, or the public from fraud, abuse, security threats, or unlawful activity.
We do not currently sell personal information for money and do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws.
7. Public information and campaign visibility
Information published on a campaign page or community feature is visible to the public and may be copied, indexed, screenshotted, archived, or reshared by others outside our control. Choosing to display your donor name publicly makes that name visible with the associated campaign when that feature is enabled. We may preserve nonpublic records even after public content is removed when necessary for transaction, fraud, dispute, tax, audit, security, or legal purposes.
8. Payments, crowdfunding infrastructure, and service providers
KIA is designed to integrate with third-party crowdfunding and payment systems. Thrinacia Atlas may provide crowdfunding backend functionality, while Stripe or other payment providers may process or support card transactions. Those providers may act under their own privacy policies, legal obligations, fraud controls, retention rules, and payment-network requirements.
We encourage you to review the privacy terms presented by payment or crowdfunding providers. KIA does not use full payment-card details for marketing or public display.
9. Cookies and similar technology
KIA and its service providers may use cookies, local storage, server logs, pixels, or similar technologies for essential functionality, preferences, security, fraud prevention, session management, diagnostics, and measurement. Where applicable law requires consent or an opt-out for nonessential tracking, we will provide the required control.
10. Blockchain information
If KIA later records donation, reward, wallet, governance, or impact information on a public blockchain, wallet addresses and transaction information may be public, permanent, and outside Kind Coin’s ability to erase or change. We will describe the relevant on-chain flow before collection or transaction when legally required.
11. Data retention
We retain information for the period reasonably necessary to review campaigns, administer donations, provide records, resolve disputes, investigate fraud, enforce agreements, meet payment, tax, accounting, regulatory, sanctions, security, and legal requirements, and establish or defend claims. Campaign and transaction records may therefore be retained longer than ordinary website logs. Public blockchain data, if used, may be permanent.
12. Security
We use safeguards designed to protect KIA information and expect service providers handling payment data to maintain appropriate payment-security controls. No platform can guarantee absolute security. Do not email payment-card details, passwords, private keys, seed phrases, or unnecessary identity documents. If you believe your payment or account information has been compromised, contact your card issuer or payment provider promptly and notify us at together@realkindcoin.com.
13. U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on your state and whether its law applies to KIA, you may have rights to access or confirm processing; correct; delete; obtain a portable copy; learn categories of personal information collected or disclosed; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; use an authorized agent; appeal a denied request; and receive equal service despite exercising privacy rights.
Submit a request by emailing together@realkindcoin.com with the subject “KIA Privacy Request.” We may verify your identity and, for campaign or transaction records, may request information reasonably necessary to match the request to our records. If applicable law gives you an appeal right, you may appeal by replying to our decision and stating that you wish to appeal.
If we become subject to a law requiring recognition of a valid browser-based opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control, we will honor it as required.
14. California notice at collection
KIA may collect the following California categories: identifiers; customer records and contact information; commercial and donation transaction information; internet/network activity; approximate geolocation; professional/organizational information; financial information used for payment; user-generated campaign content; and sensitive personal information such as payment credentials or verification information when necessary. We use these categories for the purposes in Section 5 and disclose them to the recipients described in Section 6.
We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right to limit unless we provide the required notice and control. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16.
15. Children
KIA is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. Donors and campaign organizers must be at least 18 unless a separate, legally compliant program expressly permits a different age. Campaigns concerning minors must be submitted by an authorized adult who has the right to provide the information and media used.
16. Donation and tax records
KIA may retain donation records and provide receipts or reporting information. A payment record or KIA receipt does not by itself establish that a contribution is tax deductible. Tax treatment depends on the recipient, campaign structure, facts, and applicable law. We may disclose transaction information to payment providers, recipients, tax authorities, or other parties when required by law.
17. International processing
KIA may use service providers in the United States and other countries. If you use KIA from outside the United States, information may be transferred to countries with different data-protection laws. We will use additional transfer mechanisms or notices where required by applicable law.
18. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as KIA’s payment, account, campaign, blockchain, or provider architecture changes. We will post the revised version and update the “Last updated” date, and will provide additional notice or consent when required.
